See how we’re making a difference.

At the Western Youth Network, we value our relationships with the community and each other. We are working to provide trauma-informed care, build resiliency in our community’s youth, and create a healthy environment for everyone. We strive to operate under best practices built on scientific research. One of the largest growing bodies of research in this field is surrounding Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Resiliency.

Here are some resources where we always looking for the latest:

ACE’s Connection

“Adverse Childhood Experiences, or ACEs, are potentially traumatic events that occur in childhood (0-17 years) such as experiencing violence, abuse, or neglect; witnessing violence in the home; and having a family member attempt or die by suicide. Also included are aspects of the child’s environment that can undermine their sense of safety, stability, and bonding such as growing up in a household with substance misuse, mental health problems, or instability due to parental separation or incarceration of a parent, sibling, or other member of the household.” (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2019)
